Michael came to insurance from systems. He runs On Point Tech Solutions here in Los Gatos and was CTO of a San Jose marketing firm before that, so most of his career has been spent building the machinery other businesses run on: websites, CRMs, automation.
That is not a side note. It is the reason this practice works the way it does. People who build systems for a living tend to map the whole problem before recommending any part of it, and to be suspicious of a solution that turns up before the problem has been written down.
Which is exactly the failure in most retirement conversations. The product arrives first. Here your situation goes on paper first, and sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need anything from us.

How we get paid
Worth saying out loud.
We're compensated by the insurance companies whose products we place, not by charging you a planning fee. That's the standard arrangement in this business, and it means the initial conversation genuinely costs you nothing.
It also means you should ask the obvious follow-up: how does that shape what gets recommended? Our answer is that your situation goes on paper before any product is discussed, and that we are willing to tell you when you don't need anything from us. That is the safeguard. Hold us to it.
Ask us how we're paid. Ask anyone else you're considering, too. It's a fair question and it should get a straight answer.
The rules we work by
What we will and won't do.
We'll say no
If your guaranteed income already covers your essentials, or you may need the money soon, we'll tell you an annuity isn't the answer.
We won't rush you
Nothing about this decision improves by being made quickly. Any pressure to sign at a first meeting is a reason to leave.
We explain it twice
If a contract can't be explained plainly enough to repeat back, it isn't the right contract for you, however good the numbers look.
We stay in our lane
We're licensed in California for life insurance and annuities. For tax and legal questions we'll tell you to speak to your CPA or attorney, and mean it.

We're based on S Bascom Ave in Los Gatos and licensed to work with California residents. Meetings happen in person locally or by video, whichever suits you.
